Mrs.
Angele Niyuhire became ambassador of Burundi to the United
States on Sept. 18, 2009.
To the left you can see her
welcomed by Pres. Obama (White House photo) on Nov. 4, 2009,
during the credentials ceremony for the newly appointed
ambassadors to Washington, D.C.
A Tutsi from the town of Uprona, H.E. Mrs. Angele Nihuyire was a
Burundi Member of Parliament. She worked extensively to achieve
peace and non violence in Africa, and to support the cause of
emancipation of African women.
Her husband is an established Burundi builder, who remained in
Burundi, while she moved for her assignment to Washington D.C.
with her daughters. She speaks Kirundi, French and English. |
